Poetry By Biswanath Daschoudhury: Indian Poet

Nabanita, the Icon of Love
Biswanath Daschoudhury

Sitting idle, looking at the sky

And searching back and forth in curious eye;

Minutes elapsed, hours elapsed, days gone

But not find lass whom I yearn.

Once in a dream I find a lady

Waving at me in the mood of happy;

Proceed towards her so slowly with shy face

Though she stares at me and Nature’s grace.

Clad in sari in red and green

Extends her loving hands to greet and win.

Approaching her and ask name

Nabanita, she responds proudly; and the Nature’s daughter, she claims;

Yeah, she is right. Her claim is justified -

As she proves the beauty herself which is the art of the God and notified.

She encourages the poets to write more poems;

Novelists start to write more novels;

All themes centering round the beauty of the lady;

Her innocence, her womanship make all crazy.

I feel love with Nabanita, the married belle in faith

Drags me to her charming heart and keeps until death;

Come and hear the full note of the cuckoo

She inspires us to get together and paints a significant tattoo.

The Humanity
Biswanath Daschoudhury

Poor and poverty

Growing day after;

Rich and richer

Burst out laughter.

Man and humanity

Lost their glory;

Say other lives

We are sorry.

Progress and progression

Especially in warfare;

Man wants eagerly

The earth to alter.

Time and tide

Wait for none;

Being a man,

Not to make man fun.

To the Almighty
Biswanath Daschoudhury

Aye God, let me wake with renewed vigour and remove cowardice;

Let me stand beyond caste, creed and prejudice;

Let me speak only the truth;

Let me inject with fresh youth;

Let me find the streak-plate in light;

Let me try to cease fight;

Let me protest against wrongs;

Let me sing joyful songs;

Let me groom to love my country;

Let every citizen read my poetry;

Aye God, let the civilization move from the layer;

Let me finish here my prayer.
